Insulated glass is composed of two or more pieces of float glass, with aluminum alloy spacer frames filled with desiccant sandwiched between the glass panes. The assembly is initially bonded and sealed with butyl rubber, followed by secondary sealing using polysulfide sealant or structural silicone.
